Dr. Cha grew up in Maryland and graduated from Princeton University with distinction in molecular biology. He completed his medical degree at the University of Michigan through the Medical Scientist Training Program, which included PhD dissertation research in adipose tissue development and metabolism.

Dr. Cha then completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Michigan, where he was chosen as a research fellow and contributed to clinical and translational research on psoriasis, rosacea, acne, and skin aging. In his practice, Dr. Cha’s clinical interests encompass all aspects of medical dermatology, including skin cancers, moles/growths, rashes, acne, and pediatric dermatology, as well as procedural dermatology, including surgical excisions and select cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Cha strives to work together with his patients to provide empathetic and individualized care that will effectively address all of their dermatologic needs. He has cherished the many relationships he has developed with his patients since he started practicing in the area, particularly the many families, including multiple generations, he feels privileged to have gotten to know and have cared for over the years. He looks forward to continuing to build such relationships with established and new patients within a dermatology-specific healthcare group.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cha enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, particularly following and participating in their sports and school activities. Having lived in Michigan for over 20 years, he also enjoys learning about and exploring what he now considers his home state.
